2023 Aeronautics & Astronautics Commencement
The Aero/Astro Departmental Graduation Ceremony will be on Sunday, June 18, in the Cemex Auditorium at 12:30pm (line up at 12pm). Our reception will be held at the GSB Bowl. Tickets are not required. We are asking that all students planning to attend our departmental ceremony fill out our Confirmation Form by May 11.
Who should fill out this form:
-You are an Aero/Astro graduate (BS, MS or PhD) from Smr 22, Aut 22, Wtr 23, Spr 23
-You will graduate with a Aero/Astro degree (BS, MS, PhD) in Summer 2022-2023, or possibly fall 2023-24. (walkthroughs)
-You are a PhD graduate from another department and will be hooded by your Aero/Astro PhD advisor
-You are a coterm senior and you want to walk with your class.
-Your guests do not need to fill out this form!
For PhD students only, each year we include a single slide form each graduating/walking PhD student as part of the presentation. Please submit your slide by Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Please email Patrick Ferguson the slide in PowerPoint.
Cap and Gown
Dress Code: Academic attire (cap and gown) is required to participate in many Commencement Weekend activities and will be available to rent or purchase from the Stanford Bookstore. Order your regalia now!
· Sunday, May 14 – Deadline for cap and gown rental pre-order to ship to home
· Thursday, June 1 – Pre-order cap & gown distribution begins (Stanford Bookstore lower level)
· Monday, June 5 – Open stock distribution begins (Stanford Bookstore lower level)
Note: To guard against continuing delays in the supply chain, we recommend you place your order as early as possible.

The Spring Quarter late application deadline to file for spring degree conferral is Friday, June 2, by 5pm ($50 fee).

Main Ceremony Schedule
Commencement Weekend is June 15-18, 2023. If you have any questions about the main university ceremony at the football stadium, please read the information at commencement.stanford.edu and send follow-up questions to commencement@stanford.edu.
FAQ: Am I eligible to participate in this year’s main Commencement ceremony?
Students are automatically eligible to participate in the main Commencement ceremony if:
- They have previously conferred a degree in Summer 2022, Autumn 2022, or Winter 2023
- They are expected to confer a degree in Spring 2023 or Summer 2023
- They are a coterm student who began their undergraduate degree program in Autumn 2019
If they do not fall into the eligibility criteria above, they should complete the Commencement Participation Request form to request an exception. If they are automatically eligible, they do not need to submit the request form.
