Title: Integrating Autonomous Drones into the Airspace
Abstract: Zipline's Head of Certification and Airspace Integration, Eric Watson, will share his experience working to integrate autonomous flying robots safely and efficiently into the airspace in the US and beyond. Eric will kick things off covering his career trajectory from Aerospace Engineering graduate student to Systems Engineer to startup co-founder to then wearing many hats over his 7 years at Zipline. He will dive into systems optimization to meet customer needs, key technical challenges including current challenges, tenets for design of autonomous systems, the importance of investing in validation, and lessons learned in certification of autonomous systems.
